I bow at the feet of the Lord Lamas.


Child, you who are a vessel for the teachings protected by the Triple Gem, listen!

Very steady in faith and intellect,
Possessing renunciation, regret, and compassion,
In someone like you, the qualities of the path
Are going to increase like the waxing moon.
In someone like me, a Gyalpo addicted to privileges,
Blessings and compassion are very slight;
But in the mind-stream of a fortunate disciple,
Like the pure surface of a mirror,
The reflections of blessings are certain to arise.

Mind, the empty expanse that is utterly pure from the beginning,
Already has the spontaneously present effulgence of light
In itself.

In the view of one's own face of intrinsic awareness (rang rig)
The tainted flaws of duality are absent.
Not fabricating that, leaving it as it is, is meditation
And in the conduct of whatever happens, there is no hope and fear.
However it appears, whatever happens is liberated in its own place.
That is the instruction of Dzogpa Chenpo.
